Preparing your generator for cold weather
- Clear debris inside and outside the generator and any obstructions by a 3 ft. radius
- Listen for weekly testing
- Replace a dirty or damaged air filter.
- Inspect lines and connections for fuel or oil leaks.
- Check your battery for proper charge and clean any corrosion on the terminals.
- Annual Maintenance service is highly recommended. Just like maintaining your car, your generator requires yearly maintenance to ensure proper operation, longevity, and meeting your units manufacturers warranty requirements. Check spark plugs and re-gap or replace if they’re out of tolerance.
